Orlando Land Trust Fundraising

Last updated on February 11, 2021

In 2014, the Community Redevelopment Agency launched Project DTO, an initiative that laid out ten vision themes for downtown. One of the vision themes is to create an awesome outdoor city. An entire section of the plan is devoted to addressing parks and open space, with the need to create and enhance open spaces.

Orlando Land Trust was established as a means of improving and protecting parks, playgrounds, and green spaces for all Orlando residents. As Orlando grows, its communities’ needs for quality parks, green spaces, and natural habitat grows with it.

Orlando Land Trust works with residents, local leaders, businesses, and community stakeholders for win-win solutions that make Orlando more beautiful, healthy, and enjoyable for all. Currently, the Orlando Land Trust is set to raise $3.25 million by March as a means to protect Lake Eola Park and preserve the property on the northeast corner of Central Boulevard and Rosalind Avenue. Currently, they are only $45,000 away from that goal and if their goal is met the CRA will provide $1.625 million towards this effort.
