Maybe you’re taking a self-guided tour of downtown Orlando’s historic buildings or public art. Maybe you just pedaled all around Lake Eola in a swan boat. Or you and your furry best friend had some unleashed fun at the Constitution Green Dog Run. Or maybe it’s just a day that ends in “y” and you want to savor something cool and refreshing. Downtown Orlando has cool treats and places to meet that help tame the hottest of days.
Cold and Creamy
If you’re screaming for ice cream, try the unique flavor combinations at The Greenery Creamery on Church Street, just a couple blocks south of Lake Eola Park. Handcrafted in small batches, you can enjoy high quality dairy and vegan selections in a cone, milkshake, or pint to take home and share—or not. We don’t judge!
Brisk and Bold
If your ideal cool treat does double duty as an afternoon pick-me-up, then you have several options in downtown Orlando for a cold brew, creamy chilled latte, or iced chai. In the Central Business District, try CFS Coffee, Craft & Common, or Foxtail Coffee Co. If you’re near Lake Eola, head to Deeply Coffee or to Benjamin French Bakery & Café in Thornton Park.
Lean and Green
Looking for something cool, delicious, and nutritious? At Mango Fresh, you can find smoothies and cold pressed juices with fresh, organic, superfood ingredients that will help you power through the rest of your day. And Tropical Smoothie Café on Washington Street serves its signature fresh and flavorful smoothies for a taste of summer vacation all year long.
Refresh
Check out the Orlando Public Library. While cooling off, you can browse, read, or enroll in a class. Be sure to visit the Melrose Center on the second floor, an area dedicated to creativity and technology with hands-on explorations and experiments.
Revive
The Orange County Regional History Center offers four floors of air conditioned exhibits for adults and families to explore Central Florida’s heritage and culture. Don’t miss a photo op with the alligator sculptures near the entrance.
Chill
Even if you’re not a guest, you’re welcome to visit the art galleries in the lobby and on the 5th floor of the Grand Bohemian Hotel. Take your time in the A/C and take in collections of paintings, sculptures, and jewelry created by locally known and emerging artists.
Recharge
Discover Downtown is your one-stop spot for information, Orlando-themed merchandise created by local makers (including face masks), and a 30-foot indoor mural by renowned local artist, Boy Kong.
