Last week, Mayor Buddy Dyer and and City Commissioners commemorated the groundbreaking of the FORDify the Arts Courtyard at the historic Rogers Kiene Building on the corner of Pine St. and Magnolia Ave. in downtown Orlando.
The Rogers Kiene Building, located at 39 S. Magnolia Avenue, is the oldest commercial building in the city and is listed on the National Historic Registry. It was restored and donated by local businessman and lover of the arts, Ford Kiene before he passed away in 2022.
The Courtyard is expected to be completed by November 2024 and will forever be a part of downtown that supports our growing arts community by transforming the space to an area that can be used by CityArts and Downtown Arts District for private events and art-related activities. All while adding a beautiful new space for everyone to enjoy.
