Last updated on August 05, 2024

Last month, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer joined District 5 Interim City Commissioner Shan and student entrepreneurs for the "Bee Part of the Celebration," an event to mark Black Bee Honey’s continued partnership with The Grand Bohemian, located at 325 S. Orange Avenue, in downtown Orlando.

The event marked five years since the introduction of the renowned Black Bee Honey Orange Blossom Cheesecake with honeycomb waffle crisp at The Boheme restaurant, which has supported local youth through the Parramore and Holden Heights Kidz Zones.

Executive Chef Miguel Toro continued this tradition with the introduction of an expanded test menu with a focus on sustainability and locally sourced ingredients, like Black Bee Honey.

At the event, attendees were able to sample new items that may be featured at the hotel.

Menu Highlights Included:

  • Summer Watermelon Salad

  • Goat Cheese Croquettes

  • Pork Belly Sliders

  • Bees Knees Signature Cocktail

Purchases from the new menu helped benefit Orlando Kidz Zones and supports student entrepreneurs through scholarships.

Black Bee Honey is a youth entrepreneur program where students learn both business and beekeeping skills to make, bottle, and sell honey in the Parramore neighborhood and beyond. This event furthered the city’s commitment to nurturing young entrepreneurs by providing opportunities grow valuable skills through collaborations with local businesses.
