The Cathedral of St. Luke The Cathedral of St. Luke was designed by the chief architect of the Washington National Cathedral. Construction of the Gothic Revival building began in 1925 and was completed in 1987.
Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Institutional Church Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Institutional Church was the first church for African Americans, organized in 1880. Structures have changed over the years, and the current building, a red brick Classical Revival church located in the Parramore Heritage Neighborhood, broke ground in 1956.
Black Bottom House of Prayer Places of Worship 921 Bentley St., Orlando The church at the corner of Westmoreland Drive and Bentley Street has stood for nearly a century in what was once “Black Bottom,” part of the African American neighborhood of Parramore. Now the mission of the church is to serve the community and meet the needs of at-risk children with ADHD through the National ADHD Foundation.
