This new Forever stamp celebrates women’s soccer in the United States. From youth leagues to the elite world champion U.S. national team, millions of girls and women throughout the country participate in the fast-paced, competitive sport of soccer. First-day-of-issue dedication ceremonies are a way for the U.S. Postal Service to honor and commemorate a subject that has widespread national appeal or has had a significant impact or influence on the society, history, culture or environment of the American experience. The event for the Forever stamp is free and open to the public.
