Join Mad Cow Theatre for the Women's Voices Play Festival!

Marissa Alaniz is a Latina actor, writer, director, and burlesque performer based in NYC, though she splits her time between both coasts. Originally from San Antonio, TX, she earned her Associate’s Degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (Los Angeles) and her BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she also minored in Linguistics. She can currently be seen in Ned Record’s feature length thriller The Dark Places, which is due to arrive on Amazon Prime soon. She can also be seen in the upcoming film Find Her, which is set to be released later this year. As a writer, her work can be seen at several festivals in NYC, including the Broke People Festival and WinterFest.

Marissa is also a trained singer who is proficient in rock, pop, musical theater, and opera. In 2020, she co-founded the Imaginarium Theatre Company, a non-profit dedicated to inclusion, sustainability, and social justice. She is thrilled to serve as Vice President of the Board of Directors, and hopes that the work done by Imaginarium will help shape the world of theatre.
