The Story of Figurehead: A Panel Discussion

Get the inside story behind the music scene as we welcome pioneers of the Figurehead era who were instrumental in promoting shows, establishing concert venues, and releasing local music through their own record label. Panel members will discuss the community-driven effort to create a thriving music subculture in Orlando in the 1980s and ’90s and will share their personal stories and memories of the time.

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Robert Clarke of University of Central Florida and will feature some of Figurehead’s key players, including Jim Faherty, former owner of Figurehead and former co-owner of Sapphire Supper Club, and Shayni Rae, former co-owner of Sapphire Supper Club.
