Opening Reception and Artist Talk With Jim Hobart

Enjoy an exclusive meet-the-artist event at the Orlando City Hall Terrace Gallery on Thursday August 15 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Portrait Project, by photographer Jim Hobart, is a part-art, part-science experiment in self-perception and awareness. We've all been jarred by hearing a recording of our own voice. This project explores whether there is a visual equivalent phenomenon: is it possible that the way we see ourselves is significantly different from the way others see us?

This exhibit is the result of the experiment. Jim Hobart is a professional portrait photographer in Orlando, Florida. Owner of Macbeth Studio, he's been making a living photographing people since 2006.

If you can't join us on August 15, you can still see the exhibit by stopping by Orlando City Hall between now and September 1.
