Melissa Etheridge has solidified herself as one of rock music's greatest female icons. Etheridge’s popularity has grown immensely over the past 30 years with such memorable songs as “Bring Me Some Water,” “No Souvenirs” and “Ain’t It Heavy” for which she won her first Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal. Melissa hit her commercial and artistic stride when she debuted her two massive hits “I’m the Only One” and “Come to My Window,” a searing song of longing that brought her a second Grammy.
On June 20, 2016, Melissa Etheridge released a song called “Pulse.” The singer wrote the song in reaction to the mass shootings that took place in Orlando on June 12, 2016. All proceeds from the sale of “Pulse” benefited Equality Florida, the state’s largest LGBTQ civil rights organization.
