Leo Kottke and Julian Lage

With more than 40 albums released across more than five decades, prolific guitarist Leo Kottke boasts an impressive body of work and an unrivaled fingerpicking style that has garnered him two Grammy nominations and widespread acclaim. Drawing inspiration from folk, blues and jazz, Kottke plays his signature six- and 12-string guitars with effortless aptitude, a big heart and an even bigger grin. Julian Lage has spent more than a decade exploring the myriad strains of American musical history. Hailed as one of the most prodigious guitarists of his generation and “highest category of improvising musicians" (New Yorker), the California-born, New York-based musician boasts a prolific resume in his own right, in addition to collaborating with Gary Burton and John Zorn. He has also appeared on duo projects with Nels Cline, Chris Eldridge and Fred Hersch, among others.
