Flamenco “A Compás”
Flamenco De Perfil presents the performance, Flamenco “A Compás”, featuring two different dance styles within the world of flamenco, and how they intertwine with each other. The performance begins by highlighting classic flamenco rhythms and traditional dances, accompanied by guitarist Cristian Puig, alongside with other instruments such as violin, percussion, and other musical elements like castanets.
The word “compás”, meaning staying in the beat, and having rhythmic precision, takes the audience through a journey to experience the most popular, melodic, and colorful dances such as Fandangos, Sevillanas, and Guajiras to a more intense, pure, and rich form of flamenco where dancers demonstrate “compás”, strength, stamina, and sensitivity throughout, including other “palos” such as Bulería, and Seguiriya to name a few. A performance that is very energetic, rich in music, and filled with emotions carried out with the collaboration of choreographer Ely Cardenal, Dance Director of Flamenco De Perfil, and other guest artists.
