Celebrating the Latin infused side of the 1950s and ‘60s Blue Note catalog, CuBop's origin stems from the fusion of the Afro-Cuban and BeBop sounds of stylistic pioneers like Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey and Horace Silver. Since the group's inception in 2015, the CuBop repertoire has expanded to cover a wide array of styles in the jazz idiom from Latin-Jazz to Hard Bop, to more progressive avant-garde styles, all rooted within the classic quintet and sextet format.
