Crafting with Hannibal Square Story Quilters

Next date: Tuesday, February 25, 2025 | 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM

Celebrate the history and artistry of quilting with this special program, presented in partnership by the Orange County Regional History Center and the Orlando Public Library. This engaging afternoon features the Hannibal Square Story Quilters, showcasing the talents and stories of three remarkable quilters: Alema Pamela Watson, Marva Sloan, and Linda Mills Alexander.

The program begins with a lecture where these artists will explore quilting’s impact on their personal journeys and its significance within the broader cultural landscape. Following the lecture, the Melrose Center at the Orlando Public Library will guide participants through an optional hands-on quilting workshop, providing an opportunity to honor this timeless craft. Pre-registration for this separate event is required as space is limited.
