Brandee Younger

Next date: Friday, March 21, 2025 | 07:00 PM to 08:00 PM

Award-winning harpist Brandee Younger pulls you into a dream world with her lush, fluid playing. Weaving a sonic thread from the past to the present, Brandee brings fresh life to her instrument’s legacy by honoring jazz harp trailblazers like Dorothy Ashby and Alice Coltrane and performing her own inventive originals. The New York native masterfully approaches a range of genres in her music with a dedication to purveying Black music and history.

With a career now spanning 15 years, Brandee has worked with cultural icons including Pharoah Sanders, Jack Dejohnette, Ravi Coltrane, Common, Lauryn Hill, John Legend, Moses Sumney and more. In 2020, Younger was named winner of the DownBeat Critics Poll in the category of "Rising Star" harpist. Brandee also made history in 2022 by becoming the first Black woman to be nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition.
