Welcome to the Downtown Orlando Information Center! It is your resource for all your Downtown informational needs. Get answers to questions about Downtown events, attractions, venues, dining, accommodations, parking, businesses, transportation and more. We are located at 201 S. Orange Ave.
Services
Friendly Staff: Receive personalized information and experience hospitality‚ Orlando style. The welcoming staff is ready to assist you with any of your questions and help you experience Downtown Orlando firsthand.
Interpreter Services: Translation services are available in over 200 languages.
Interactive Kiosks: Use the touch screen to familiarize yourself with Downtown or browse the internet for free!
Digital Message Boards: See what's happening in Downtown on our media totems! Also, view events on the City's Loop, which plays videos of upcoming and past events on our flat screen TV's.
3-D model of Downtown: Learn about current and upcoming developments in the Downtown area. The 3-D model gives guests a precise visual that aids in navigating through Downtown. With the color coded system, guests can pinpoint different types of buildings such as: business, government, residential, faith-based and proposed buildings.
Maps & Brochures: Navigate through Downtown with ease! Guests can browse through our four information racks which contain information regarding government and transportation, arts and cultural events, restaurants, and other services.
Free Wireless Internet Services: Bring your laptop and keep in touch while you are our guest in Downtown Orlando.
Internships
Students gain experience in many different aspects of business when they intern at the Information Center. For example, they are brought along to meetings and help conduct Downtown tours. Students gain knowledge in marketing daily by setting up advertising displays and learning to promote Downtown in a professional manner. Students also learn how to conduct themselves in an urban, business environment as well as learn customer service by helping our guests by answering all their questions with a smile.
Volunteer Information providers (VIP's)
VIP's serve our guests and keep in touch with what's happening in the Downtown community. They assist guests in finding their way throughout the Downtown area. VIPs take pride in assisting our guests with available resources pertaining to their personal needs.
What's Up Downtown
What’s Up Downtown is an event opportunity for Central Florida residents, businesses, employees, educators and others to learn more about the exciting developments and initiatives happening in and planned for Downtown Orlando. On the first Thursday of each month a presentation is provided on Downtown Orlando and the current key initiatives. Each guest has the opportunity to give a 20 second introduction about themselves and their business. Following the presentation is a question and answer session. What’s Up Downtown begins at 8:30 A.M. and lasts approximately one hour. Seating is limited so please RSVP to Char Midkiff with the Downtown Development Board/Downtown Orlando Information Center at 407.246.3753, or contact us. Two hour FREE parking is available at the flat surface lot at the corner of Orange Avenue and South Street. You may take the Lymmo Bus and exit at the next stop or walk two blocks north to the Downtown Orlando Information Center.
